Tumpak Sewu Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Java. The location is in Sidomulyo Tourism Village, Kec. Pronojiwo, Lumajang Regency, East Java Province. For those who don't know, Lumajang is in the east of the city of Malang or far southeast of the city of Surabaya.

From downtown Lumajang, the location of this waterfall is still far away, reaching 47 km to the south. The Waterfall tourist location is still close to another excellent spot, Goa Drops. In Javanese, tumpak can be interpreted as a pile, and sewu is a thousand.

Another meaning of Tumpak Sewu is tumpak (up) and sewu (one thousand). So Tumpak Sewu means this waterfall looks like it is climbing or riding on a waterfall wall or cliff.

So the name Tumpak Sewu is the nickname of a pile of a thousand waterfalls. Even though it's not exactly a thousand, the outpouring of water that forms a waterfall here is very much, making it look like a giant waterfall like Niagara Falls.

This beautiful waterfall is formed from the flow of the Glidik River, which has its headwaters on Mount Semeru, the highest mountain in Java.

The location is on Jl. Raya Sidorenggo, Besukcukit, Sidomulyo, Pronojiwo, Lumajang, East Java, Indonesia, open from 7 am to 5 pm. It is located on the border between Lumajang Regency and Malang Regency.

To get to the waterfall's location, tourists generally use the Lumajang route because it is safer to go to the lower area. The official counter is also on the Lumajang line. Jalan Malang is made of scary vertical stairs.

Entrance Ticket to Tumpak Sewu

This waterfall is a cheap tourist location. Visitors are only charged an entrance ticket of IDR 10,000. If you bring a vehicle, be prepared to pay a parking ticket of IDR 5,000 for two-wheeled vehicles and IDR 10,000 for four-wheeled cars.

You can also enjoy it through the viewing post, a permanent building with an area of ​​30 meters. As many as 50 people can go up here to enjoy the view of the waterfall together.

This viewing post is safe because it is equipped with an iron fence around it. The distance from this place to the waterfall is about 100 meters. If you are lazy to go down and get wet, go up to this viewing post and observe the waterfall from above.

The road to the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall location is quite tricky, so visitors inevitably have to do some "cross-country" activities, aka trekking, to get there. The path is made of slippery clay; you might slip, so wear proper footwear.
